Job summary

Republic Services, Arlington, TX is seeking a Lead Compactor Shop Technician with limited supervision. You will troubleshoot, design, install and repair compactors and power units, coach technicians, and ensure safety procedures are followed on every job.

The role requires hands-on welding, hydraulics and electrical know-how, with on-site repairs and collaboration with sales on pre-sales activities. Strong communication and leadership are essential to mentor the team and deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with welding, hydraulics or electronics.
• Advanced knowledge of mig & stick welders, plasma cutter, and airless paint sprayers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain advanced knowledge of all types of compactors, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• M ake customer site visits to ensure we are exceeding customer expectations with regard to repairs and to assist the Sales team in presales activities.
• Coach all technicians to identify source of malfunctions and determine best course of action to repair equipment.
• Weld steel components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Cuts steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricates steel components for compactors.
• Performs on-site repairs at customer locations.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Completes required paperwork.
• Install company and safety decals on all compactors.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Refer more complex repairs to the Supervisor.
