Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join the Compactor team in Clinton, Maryland. This hands-on role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing compactors and related equipment in the field.

The ideal candidate has experience with hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, welding, and mechanical repair, and thrives working independently. Perks include competitive pay, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and a 7:30 AM–4:00 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• Compactor experience: hands-on servicing, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Experience repairing heavy equipment or industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficient with hand and power tools, torches, and measuring equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and structural issues on compactors and related equipment.
• Repair and replace motors, pumps, hydraulic cylinders, valves, controls, and other components.
• Perform welding and fabrication work, cutting and replacing chutes and rails.
• Install and service equipment at customer locations.
• Use torches, cutting tools, welding equipment, and other shop/field tools.
• Work independently in the field and see jobs through to completion.
• Follow required safety procedures.
• Maintain service and repair documentation.
