Job summary

Kansas State University is seeking an on-site maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance on building equipment and coordinate with a team of technicians and trades to diagnose issues. The role involves ensuring reliable operation of campus systems through routine service and adherence to manufacturer specifications.

Minimum qualifications include one year of relevant experience and a valid driver's license; preferred candidates have hands-on HVAC and mechanical trade experience

Qualifications

Prefer ability to troubleshoot and hands-on experience with industrial exhaust fans, air handling units, HVAC systems, ballasts, and wiring according to manufacturers’ specs.
Read, understand and work from wiring diagrams.
High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.
Four years in the mechanical or building trades with at least two years in two separate trades.
At least two years in mechanical, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, or plumbing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled preventive maintenance to building equipment in a large university setting.
Coordinate with other technicians and trades to diagnose problems and refer issues needing specialized training.
