Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a General Maintenance and Repair Technician at KU Edwards Campus. This hands-on role performs troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance to keep campus buildings, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure safe and reliable.

Responsibilities include campus maintenance, event setups, and supporting campus operations, with after-hours availability as needed. The position offers comprehensive benefits and an advertised salary range for budgeting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years’ maintenance experience using basic power tools, hand tools, and cleaning equipment.
• Experience working with individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the appearance of the building and grounds.
• Assist in preventive maintenance and repairs of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems.
• Install, operate, repair, and maintain mechanical systems as directed.
• Snow removal and ice management; apply ice melt; post signage as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly/monthly system checks and complete paperwork for projects.
• Support grounds work and waste removal; enter work orders digitally.
• Operate assigned vehicles to transport equipment and materials.
