Job summary

University of Kansas is seeking a General Maintenance and Repair Technician to support KU Edwards Campus. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative care of campus buildings, grounds, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities include HVAC/plumbing/electrical upkeep, snow removal, and assisting with events and classroom setups. Ideal candidates will have 2 years of maintenance experience and a willingness to work varied shifts, including after-hours emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of maintenance experience with basic tools.
• Ability to work with individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus buildings and grounds, and ensure mechanical systems are in good order (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Install, operate, repair, and maintain mechanical systems as directed.
• Perform snow removal and apply ice melt per supervisor directions.
• Conduct daily/weekly/monthly system checks and complete project paperwork.
• Assist with grounds work and classroom/event setups as needed.
• Operate department vehicles for transporting equipment and materials.
