Job summary

The University of Kansas seeks a General Maintenance and Repair Technician to join the KU Edwards Campus facilities team. This hands-on role performs troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance to support safe, reliable campus operations.

Key duties include HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, snow removal, classroom setup for events, and basic building repairs. A validDriver’s license and ability to work varied shifts are required.

Qualifications

Two years’ maintenance experience or equivalent
Experience with basic power/hand tools and cleaning equipment
Ability to work with diverse teams and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
Install, operate, repair, and maintain mechanical systems as directed
Assist in snow removal and apply ice melt as needed
Set up classrooms and resources for events and classes
Enter work orders and document maintenance activities
Operate department vehicles for transporting equipment
