Job summary

Amentum is seeking software engineering professionals to support C/C++ development and integration for Naval projects in Dahlgren, Virginia. This on-site role requires collaboration within our Systems and Software Engineering team and adherence to Agile practices to deliver solutions for DoD programs.

Responsibilities include developing and integrating C/C++ software, supporting SLBM weapon system projects, and working with a senior developer to meet schedule-driven goals while maintaining

Qualifications

• 0–10 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Agile Development.
• Must have active Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Must maintain a valid REAL ID driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation for travel between local sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform software development and integration using C/C++ in support of Naval projects.
• Conduct software development within the SLBM weapon system.
• Primarily support a Senior Amentum developer in development using Agile principles.
• Apply knowledge of C and C++ in software development activities.
• Perform analysis and problem-solving in professional engineering work.
• Work independently and with teams to meet schedule-driven goals.
