Job summary

Vallen is seeking an On-site Buyer to support a customer location, purchasing stock and non-stock items to meet price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.

The role includes reviewing forecasts, replenishment, expediting, placing purchase orders, evaluating vendors, and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency. Strong attention to detail and communication are essential in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in procurement or purchasing is beneficial.
• CPM certification is noted as preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Procure stock and non-stock items to meet customer demand.
• Review and approve inventory forecasts and replenishment recommendations.
• Place purchase requisitions and vendor purchase orders.
• Research and select vendors to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Monitor supplier performance and coordinate returns or replacements as needed.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve delays and quality issues.
• Maintain supplier relationships and document cost-saving opportunities.
