Job summary

Vallen Distribution, Inc. seeks an On-site Buyer to join our Uniondale, NY location. You will purchase products, goods, and materials to satisfy customer demand while ensuring price, quality, timing, and reliable supply.

Key duties include reviewing forecasts, processing POs, negotiating with suppliers, and tracking delivery. A background in procurement, ERP systems, and strong communication is highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
• CPM certification preferred.
• Experience with ERP and inventory management applications.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform procurement to meet customer demand in line with purchasing strategies.
• Review and approve inventory forecasts and replenishment recommendations.
• Place purchase requisitions and vendor purchase orders.
• Negotiate with vendors and coordinate returns for aging or excess inventory.
• Monitor order status and communicate with customers and vendors.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and maintain supplier relationships.
