Job summary

Lincoln Property Company seeks a Building Engineer I to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. You will perform scheduled maintenance, respond to tenant requests, and work under supervision to ensure safety and reliability.

This 100% in-office role requires familiarity with BAS, licenses per local requirements, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Excellent record-keeping and communication with tenants and contractors are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of job-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; physically demanding tasks.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalation issues as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight.
• Follow company safety protocols and use PPE; comply with OSHA, NEC, NFPA regulations; report hazards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; support recovery during severe weather and outages.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; work with senior engineers.
• Develop technical skills through collaboration with senior engineers and training programs.
