Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Paramount, CA, is seeking a Building Engineer to maintain and optimize building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. This hands-on role requires preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.

The position is on-site with first-shift hours and on-call responsibilities. A minimum of four years in related trades is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state equivalent.
• Minimum four years of experience in electrician trade, HVAC/refrigeration, or emergency backup systems.
• Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and machinery required for building maintenance and repair.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and local building codes.
• Physical ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet, lift 60 lbs, and access tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor refrigeration, HVAC, electrical systems, and backup power systems; record readings and adjust as needed.
• Analyze building systems performance, diagnose malfunctions, and take corrective action to minimize disruption.
• Perform preventive maintenance on base building and critical system equipment; complete task sheets and report issues.
• Install and repair plumbing, piping, electrical wiring, motors, pumps, and controls; run conduit and rebuild components.
• Maintain logs, track time, and communicate system status to management; ensure safe storage of hazardous materials.
