Job summary

JLL is seeking a Building Engineer in Paramount, CA to maintain HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring optimal performance and safe, comfortable environments for occupants. This hands-on role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely issue resolution.

The position requires a suitable trade background, strong knowledge of building systems, and the ability to work on-site Monday–Friday with on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state equivalent; two years of trade school or college.
• At least four years of experience in electrician trades, HVAC/refrigeration, or backup power systems.
• Proficient with building maintenance tools and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; monitor readings.
• Perform preventive maintenance on base building equipment and report issues.
• Install/repair plumbing, piping, wiring, motors, pumps, and controls.
• Maintain logs and communicate system status to management.
• Comply with safety policies for hazardous materials and safe work practices.
• Complete specialized tasks such as painting or carpentry when required.
