Job summary

Cousins Properties is seeking a hands-on Building Engineer for our Tampa, FL properties. This on-site role focuses on the maintenance and operation of building systems to ensure safe, efficient performance across life-safety, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing components.

The ideal candidate has a strong maintenance background, familiarity with commercial systems, and the ability to work with energy management controls. This is an on-site position requiring flexibility for after-hours work.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years in building maintenance or a related trade; HVAC/electrical knowledge preferred.
High school diploma or GED required; trade school/HVAC certs considered a plus.
Ability to operate heavy equipment such as chillers, generators, switchgear, pumps, and AHUs.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and life safety.
Respond to maintenance calls; diagnose and perform minor repairs.
Inspect and log equipment performance and energy management system set points.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Provide excellent customer service and coordinate with property staff.
