Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Senior Building Engineer in Tampa to monitor and maintain complex building systems, including HVAC, chillers, UPS, generators, and BMS. You will support plumbing, electrical, roofing, and safety compliance while driving energy efficiency and preventive maintenance programs.

The role requires 5–8 years of related experience, certifications (CFC, EPA), and a valid driver’s license. You will lead external contractor work and ensure adherence to codes and CBRE standards.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of related experience; high school diploma or trade school preferred.
• Universal CFC certification required; supervisor experience preferred.
• EPA certification and a valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assign work orders and estimate time/materials for repairs; manage inventory.
• Maintain and repair advanced mechanical/plumbing systems and BMS controls.
• Ensure codes and safety regulations are followed; coordinate with contractors.
• Develop energy management programs; optimize system efficiency.
• Oversee outside contractors; respond to client inquiries and issues.
• Lead preventive maintenance to meet equipment life expectations.
• Review inspections of building systems for compliance and performance.
• Apply advanced knowledge to improve department methods and outcomes.
• Mentor colleagues and promote CBRE values in daily work.
