Job summary

CTDI is seeking an Engineering Technician to serve as an on-site technology/automation support resource at one of our branch locations. This role performs day-to-day upkeep, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of automated systems in production, including conveyance, sortation, robotics, and PLC-controlled equipment to maximize uptime.

Travel up to 40% during peak deployments. The position is 1st shift, 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM, Monday to Friday, with pay between $21.00 and $38.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field.
• Experience with industrial automation equipment strongly preferred.
• Able to read schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for automated systems including conveyance, sortation, testing, robotics, and PLC hardware.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hardware per schedules and specs, manage on-site spare parts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and maintain throughput.
• Support hardware upgrades and component swaps, sensor replacement, and wiring repairs.
• Maintain maintenance logs, parts inventory, and service records; escalate issues to leadership.
• Coordinate with branch operations to schedule maintenance with minimal production impact.
• Travel to support new launches and install conveyance systems and PLC-led hardware.
• Verify wiring, terminations, and power distribution; ensure readiness for programming and testing.
• Support commissioning and provide hypercare after go-live.
