Job summary

CTDI is seeking an Engineering Technician to provide on-site technology and automation support at a branch location. You will perform day-to-day maintenance, troubleshoot automated testing systems, and assist with new system launches, including installation and readiness testing with up to 40% travel during peak deployments.

The role operates 1st shift, 8:00AM to 4:45PM, Monday through Friday, and offers a pay rate of $21.00 to $38.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with industrial automation equipment (conveyance, sortation, robotics, PLC-controlled hardware) is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for automated systems including conveyance, sortation, testing, robotics, scanning infrastructure, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on hardware per schedules and manufacturer specs; manage on-site spare parts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and maintain throughput.
• Support hardware upgrades and component swaps, sensor replacement/recalibration, and wiring repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts inventory, and service records; escalate recurring issues to Engineering leadership.
• Coordinate with branch operations to schedule maintenance windows with minimal production impact.
• Travel to support new launches, assist with installation of conveyance systems and PLC-led hardware at new sites.
• Verify wiring configurations and power distribution ahead of controls engineers; support go-live readiness and hypercare.
