Job summary

CTDI is seeking an Engineering Technician to serve as an on-site technology/automation support resource at one of our branch locations. This role handles day-to-day upkeep, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of automated & testing systems in production, including conveyance, sortation, robotics, and PLC-controlled equipment, with travel up to 40% during peak deployments.

2nd Shift: 3:00PM - 11:30PM, Monday - Friday.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with industrial automation equipment (conveyance, sortation, robotics, PLC-controlled hardware) preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% during peak automation launch periods; on-site work at branch locations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for automated systems (conveyance, sortation, testing, robotics, PLC equipment).
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on hardware per schedules and specs; manage on-site spare parts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and maintain throughput.
• Support hardware augmentations and upgrades, including sensor replacement and wiring repairs.
• Coordinate maintenance with branch operations to minimize production impact, document service records.
