Job summary

KNAPP North America is seeking a Resident Maintenance Technician to provide first-class maintenance support on automated storage and retrieval systems at the customer site. You will apply electrical and mechanical expertise to maximize equipment utilization and reliability, while ensuring safety and high-quality service.

The role requires hands-on capability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with customers and site teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 0-3 years direct experience in repairing machinery systems (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
• Experience with 480VAC, 240VAC, 120VAC, 48VDC, 24VDC, VFDs and PLCs (Siemens preferred).
• Experience in repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PLC-based machinery, highly automated and robotic equipment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish and/or English/German preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Rectify electro-mechanical faults and provide specialist maintenance assistance.
• Respond to emergency customer calls and coordinate repairs.
• Set up and calibrate precision automation equipment.
• Train customer maintenance teams as required.
• Maintain safety procedures and ensure quality reporting.
• Communicate progress with on-site management and customers.
