Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Phoenix is seeking a Controls Engineer to provide on-shift automation support at our Glendale, AZ facility. The role focuses on Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for high-speed beverage processing lines, with duties spanning PLC/HMI, VFD, and network issues.

You will mentor technicians, participate in change management, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to improve safety, reliability, and throughput.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least four years in industrial automation or controls in a high-speed manufacturing setting.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience diagnosing automation, conveyor, and packaging equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
• Implement corrective actions to reduce recurring problems.
• Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators, maintain documentation.
