Beal Bank USA is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations, reviewing staff work, and preparing financial and board reporting. This on-site role emphasizes detail orientation, strong accounting knowledge, and leadership of accounting staff.

You will prepare financial statements under US GAAP, coordinate month-end closes, and support audits while driving process improvements and CECL-related tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification or relevant accounting management experience in a financial institution required.
• Progressive accounting experience including financial statement prep, GL, month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and CECL.
• Banking/regulatory experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills: PivotTables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, large data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain accounting matters clearly.
• Ability to work independently and on-site during all scheduled hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
• Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to accounting staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, wire/OFAC docs, and supporting schedules.
• Review regulatory reports for accuracy and timely submission.
• Prepare financial statements under US GAAP and bank policies.
• Prepare board/management reporting packages with variance analysis.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulators and track findings to resolution.
• Maintain internal control docs, policies, close checklists, and segregation of duties.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Oversee fixed-asset accounting and CECL accounting support.
• Respond to ad hoc requests and maintain confidential records.
• Escalate issues to Controller as needed.
