Job summary

County National Bank seeks a qualified Assistant Controller to lead technical accounting, consolidation, CECL modeling, and regulatory reporting. This role reviews journal entries, maintains internal controls, coordinates audits, and supports policy research and implementation.

The position can be housed on-site at Portage, MI, with travel as needed. You will be part of the accounting leadership team, ensuring examiner-ready standards and strong financial stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with focus on Accounting.
• At least 3 to 5 years of accounting and/or banking experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and consolidates monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintains a system of internal controls to support integrity of financial statements.
• Reviews journal entries and reconciliations prepared by accounting staff.
• Coordinates preparation of audits and regulatory reports, including Call Reports and related documentation.
