Job summary

Beal Bank USA is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations, reviewing staff work, and preparing financial and board reporting. This on-site role focuses on strengthening internal controls and accounting processes.

You will coordinate close activities, prepare GAAP-compliant statements, and assist with audits and regulatory reporting. Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification or relevant accounting management experience in a financial institution required.
• Progressive accounting experience including financial statement prep, GL, month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and CECL requirements.
• Experience with banking environments preferred.
• Ability to guide accounting staff and review work for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and coordinate monthly, quarterly, annual close.
• Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to accounting staff.
• Review staff work including journals, reconciliations, accruals, and support schedules.
• Coordinate with auditors and regulators and track findings to resolution.
• Maintain internal control documentation and close checklists.
• Identify process improvements and drive automation of reconciliations and reporting.
