Job summary

Hines is seeking an Apprentice Engineer to assist in the operation and maintenance of building systems at a property. You will learn to support HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems while delivering prompt service to tenants.

This on-site role requires physical work, the ability to lift 25 lbs, and flexibility for varied shifts. The position offers hands-on training and growth within a leading global real estate firm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Related trade certifications preferred.
• Continually develop building engineering knowledge.
• Read and understand a variety of instructions and manuals.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs or more.
• Shift work including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• On-site work five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other building systems.
• Make adjustments to HVAC and related equipment to meet operating criteria.
• Perform general repairs and maintenance of building components.
• Participate in water treatment chemical programs at the property.
• Maintain operation and chemical logs and other inspection records.
• Apply basic HVAC distribution knowledge to resolve work orders.
• Provide prompt, courteous response to tenant requests.
• Maintain professional relations with contractors and tenants.
• Learn current emergency procedures and safety protocols.
