IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services, seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage vendor payments and invoicing. This on-site role requires meticulous processing, PO matching, and adherence to internal controls.

The position emphasizes accuracy, timely payments, and collaboration with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, with a focus on compliance and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• Previous accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred.
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
• Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation.
• Prepare and process check, ACH, and electronic payments.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and filing systems.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status.
• Assist with month-end closing and account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain invoice approvals and resolve payment issues.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
