Job summary

Ascendo-Resources is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting operations and financial reporting in a growing organization. This on-site, contract-to-hire role offers exposure to general ledger activities and month-end close.

You will handle journal entries, assist with AP/AR, and contribute to accurate financial reporting while ensuring adherence to GAAP and internal procedures. Strong Excel and QuickBooks Online skills are essential.

Qualifications

2+ years of general accounting or staff accounting experience.
Knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations.
Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

Handle general accounting functions, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
Assist with accounts payable, accounts payable, and account reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Review transactions for accuracy and resolve account discrepancies.
Prepare financial reports and maintain accurate accounting records.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting procedures.
Assist with audits and other accounting projects as needed.
