Job summary

Lithko Contracting is seeking a Staff Accountant I to support foundational accounting activities and a timely month-end close. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile balances, and learn enterprise processes while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

As you develop, you’ll gain exposure to the company’s ERP, BlackLine, and GAAP policies, contributing to audit readiness and continuous process improvements within a growing national contractor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience or applicable internship experience.
• Foundational understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to organize work, prioritize multiple assignments, and meet established deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare routine journal entries, workpapers, and supporting schedules for month-end close.
• Complete assigned balance sheet reconciliations and resolve straightforward discrepancies.
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation for reporting, audit readiness, and internal control.
• Collaborate with accounting teammates and business partners to gather information and resolve routine accounting questions.
• Build technical accounting knowledge through progressively more complex assignments across multiple accounting disciplines.
