Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning, stronger mentorship, and more time for real-world skills. Alpha is hiring an Academic Coach to work on-site at a campus, guiding K-3 students through app-based core learning, diagnosing gaps, and tailoring a diagnostic sequence.

You will lead short literacy sessions, morning launches, and campus routines, staying with students across the day to close gaps with data-driven coaching.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps or similar settings.
• At least 2 years of that experience coaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor's degree required; teaching certificate not mandated.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning, spotting gaps, and driving progress toward daily goals.
• Running short, structured-literacy sessions with 2–4 students and diagnosing decoding gaps.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Guiding students to weekly app goals with rewards, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, and closing with a proactive plan.
