Job summary

Alpha is hiring Academic Coaches to guide K-3 students through a structured, app-based literacy program. You will diagnose decoding gaps, design targeted sequences, and run small-group sessions to move students toward daily reading goals.

You stay with the class from morning launch to closing, using data to name gaps and plan interventions. Ideal candidates have 3+ years with young children, 2+ years coaching reading in K-3, and formal structured-literacy credentials.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9.
• At least 2 years coaching reading in K-3 (last 5 years).
• Completed structured-literacy training or master’s in reading or literacy.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning; identify gaps and unblock with targeted sequences.
• Lead short literacy sessions for 2–4 students; diagnose gaps from running records and fluency probes.
• Maintain daily on-campus presence from launch to closing; drive weekly app goals via incentives and routines.
• Support read-aloud and decoding practice; ensure transfer of learning to reading.
