Job summary

Omega Plastics Inc. is seeking a Process Technician for the 3rd shift in Clinton Township, MI. The role covers full lifecycle responsibilities from mold changes to first article inspections in a fast-paced injection molding environment.

Dan operator training, accurate process documentation, and strict safety practices are required. On-site, 11:30pm–8:00am shift with competitive hourly pay and shift premium.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in plastic injection molding (process technician/setup)
• Proven ability to perform mold changes and start-ups
• Experience with basic quality measurement tools for first article inspections
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and part prints
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional training
• Adept at maintaining clean, safe work area and accurate documentation
• Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of RJG principles is preferred

Responsibilities

• Read instructions and understand mold function including hydraulic core sequence
• Set barrel heats and purge IMM before changes
• Clean back plates and platens before/after mold changes
• Install/remove molds using proper crane procedures
• Make all mold change connections and check for leaks
• Follow water line diagrams and verify flow and safety locks
• Test hydraulic/pneumatic lines for proper function
• Remove molds and return unused equipment to proper location
• Perform mold changes, start-ups, and process troubleshooting
• Support first article inspections with basic measurement tools
• Train operators and communicate across teams
• Support material handler duties as needed
• Maintain safety and clean work area and timely documentation
