Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Special Education 1:1 for on-site work at a middle school. The role provides classroom and environmental support under the direction of a special education teacher, implementing IEP accommodations and assisting with instructional activities.

The position requires a high school diploma, First Aid/CPR/AED certification, and willingness to participate in required background checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
• Ability to supervise children and perform clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist special education teachers with classroom duties and materials.
• Support students in one-on-one and small-group activities as directed by the teacher.
• Supervise students on bus and at lunch/recess per IEP.
• Perform clerical tasks: typing, filing, records, supplies.
• Implement accommodations listed in the IEP and participate in training.
