Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks Instructional Assistants to support students with IEPs under the guidance of special education teachers. The role includes preparing instructional materials, recording grades, and assisting with accommodations during instruction.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, First Aid/CPR/AED certification, and training on ASD may be required. Duties include lifting up to 50 pounds and school bus supervision as indicated by the IEP.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and/or equivalent training; ability to perform clerical tasks.
• Ability to supervise children and communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Experience handling confidential student information with professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Assists special education teachers with classroom duties (grading, materials, accommodations).
• Supports students during instructional activities (one-on-one, small groups, whole group).
• Documents student progress as directed by the teacher.
• Assists students onto/off the bus and supervises lunch/recess per IEP.
• Operates assistive technology devices; uses duplicating equipment and computers.
• Performs other related duties as required.
