Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students with IEPs in both general and special education settings. Under the direction of a special education teacher, you will assist with classroom duties, prepare instructional materials, and help administer accommodations.

You will supervise students on the bus, assist during lunch and recess, and participate in trainings on ASD or related needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of childhood growth and development.
• Ability to supervise children and communicate effectively.
• Experience with clerical tasks and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom duties and prepare instructional materials.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support during instruction.
• Transport students on the school bus and supervise during meals and recess.
• Implement IEP accommodations as directed by the teacher.
• Perform clerical tasks such as typing, filing, and ordering supplies.
