Job summary

Spreetail is seeking a Safety Manager to drive a proactive safety culture across our fulfillment centers, leading from the floor with walk-throughs, investigations, training, and audits. You will own key safety metrics, ensure compliance, and actively manage workers’ compensation programs.

The role demands hands-on leadership on multi-shift operations, extensive regulatory experience, and a track record of delivering tangible safety improvements without a dedicated supervisor.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of safety or EHS experience, ideally in a production, warehouse, distribution center, or e-fulfillment environment.
• Formal or extensive regulatory experience and exposure. Responsibility for 300 logs, complaints, and onsite support.
• Experience supporting multi-shift operations, including night or weekend shifts.
• Direct, hands-on experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
• Proven ability to own and execute integrated safety programs independently — this role does not have Safety Supervisor support and requires someone who can carry the management, influence/cooperations, and the execution.
• Comfortable as a floor-level presence: a significant portion of each shift is spent on the warehouse floor, not behind a desk.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive safety metrics (ORIR & LTI) and lead root cause analyses with Operations for corrective actions.
• Document and investigate every OSHA recordable, ensuring timely closure with corrective actions.
• Support onboarding safety training completion at or above 95% for all associates and departments.
• Conduct monthly safety audits and close open items with documented improvements.
• Maintain current emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and first aid resources across shifts.
• Actively manage workers’ compensation claims and utilize modified duty programs to reduce costs.
