Job summary

OCR Alpha is seeking a Trade Assistant to sit with the front office trading desk, offering direct exposure to trading strategies, markets and execution. This role involves close interaction with Portfolio Managers, Traders and Operations.

You will monitor trade capture and ensure positions are accurately reflected, support settlement, futures roll activity, and other lifecycle events, while working with Technology to automate processes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a trading desk within a buy-side firm or an investment bank.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle across listed and OTC products.
• Proactive approach with a genuine interest in process improvement, automation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day trade support to the investment team and support futures roll activity and other key trading lifecycle events.

We are currently working with one of the world's leading global macro hedge funds to hire a Trade Assistant. Following significant growth in recent years, the business now has a global presence with offices across the US, Europe and Asia.

This is a unique position, sitting with the trading desk with great exposure to trading strategies, markets and execution.

The Role

This is a front-office facing role offering close interaction with Portfolio Managers, Traders and Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring trade capture to ensure positions are accurately reflected across internal systems, partnering with Operations to facilitate timely settlement, providing day-to-day trade support to the investment team, supporting futures roll activity and other key trading lifecycle events, and working alongside Technology teams to enhance and automate trading processes.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a trading desk within either a buy-side firm or an investment bank. They will possess a strong understanding of the trade lifecycle across listed and OTC products, together with a proactive approach and a genuine interest in process improvement, automation and operational excellence.
