Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full‑time Flex Houseparents. You reside in on‑campus student homes and mentor a group of 8–13 students, guiding academics, behavior, and wellness in a family‑like setting.

The role begins with a nine‑on, three‑off schedule, followed by placement with a single student home. Compensation includes housing, meals, health insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading devotions and Judeo‑Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
