Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks a married couple to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students to foster academic, emotional, and social development.

On hire, you’ll begin in diverse student homes with a nine-on/three-off schedule, then transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and schedules for student homes.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan development/recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
