This full-time role blends direct interaction with detailed account work across Student Financial Services, Account Services, and University Collections.

Advisors are cross-trained to support billing, payments, and collections, with a focus on empathetic service and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; combined experience/education acceptable.
• One year of relevant experience in customer service, financial services, accounting, or a related field.
• Ability to interpret, review, and evaluate complex financial documentation and policies accurately.
• Ability to counsel and advise students and parents on matters concerning financial obligations to the university.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough working knowledge of FERPA and related data regulations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, able to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to students, families, and campus stakeholders regarding financial obligations, payment procedures, options, and enrollment impact.
• Review and interpret student accounts to explain charges, credits, payments, balances, and activity.
• Counsel on payment options, payment plans, past-due balances, student loans, and deferments.
• Process account activity, reconciliations, refunds, and payment-plan activity; ensure accuracy and documentation.
• Investigate issues and resolve with sound judgment; escalate as appropriate.
• Deliver excellent customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
