Job summary

Ball State University is seeking a part-time Information and IT OCC Representative for the Operations Control Center on the Muncie campus. You will provide visitors with information, monitor systems, and respond to outages to keep campus operations online.

This 2nd shift role offers a $0.50 premium and requires on-campus presence, with duties including incident handling and communications across university departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Over three months through one year of customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and courteous information to callers and visitors
• Operate BSU radio communications and monitor systems
• Respond to service-impacting events following procedures
• Assist callers after Helpdesk hours; reset passwords and Duo Mobile resets as needed
• Maintain radio logs and communicate with maintenance and security teams
• Monitor campus events and BSU-affiliated activities via official channels
• Analyze alarms and prioritize actions per standards and procedures
• Provide security for OCC and data center
• Train new staff and student workers
• Support weather or crisis events as essential personnel
• Assist in testing lines and numbers during installations
• Maintain regular attendance and perform related duties
