Job summary

Blinn College District on the Bryan Campus seeks a Full Time HVAC Technician III to perform complex maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R equipment, including condensers, pumps, motors, coils, fans, blowers, and related systems. The role requires extensive experience and a valid EPA refrigerant license.

The technician will diagnose, repair, and monitor HVAC/R systems, participate in safety programs, and support Facilities projects.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years’ experience with HVAC systems.
• Has an approved EPA Certified License to handle and purchase refrigerants.
• Mechanical knowledge.
• Valid Texas driver’s license in good standing or ability to obtain one.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent; supplemented by vocational or special training in the air conditioning, electrical, or mechanical field.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance per established program.
• Respond to work requests for HVAC/R problems and train lower-level techs.
• Troubleshoot and repair heating and direct expansion HVAC/R systems.
• Monitor computerized HVAC/R based control systems.
• Participate actively in safety programs and maintain inventory.
