The City of Shreveport is seeking a Maintenance Specialist II for the Meter Shop. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance on water meters and meter boxes, plus installation, exchange, reading, and repair of transmitters, with work order updates using laptop workbooks.

Responsibilities include field water sampling, customer relations, and ensuring compliance; regular safety training and being on call 24/7.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A valid state vehicle operator's license is required.
• Three years experience as a Maintenance Specialist I or related field.
• Meter Shop assignment requires Class 2 Water Distribution Certificate within 3 years.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water meters and meter boxes.
• Install, exchange, read, and repair transmitters; update work orders.
• Oversee flushing and sampling of source water and potable water for compliance.
• Train new team members on safe work practices and maintain safety standards.
• Be on call 24/7; perform other duties as assigned.
