Job summary

The City of Shreveport is seeking a Maintenance Specialist who will perform water treatment and distribution duties as well as wastewater system maintenance and construction. You may operate tools and vehicles, handle materials, and secure work areas with safety measures, while adhering to all safety rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid State Vehicle Operator's License with class applicable to the position.
• Within 3 years, obtain Class 1 Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Certificates.

Responsibilities

• Perform water treatment/distribution and wastewater system maintenance, repairs, and construction.
• Operate hand/power tools, vehicles, and related equipment; ensure safety rules are followed.
• Assist with sampling, meter maintenance, and site restoration; on-call 24/7 as needed.
• Adhere to safety standards, train others on safe work practices, and participate in required trainings.
