Job summary

Hope water is seeking a dedicated meter reader to safely and accurately perform readings for about 3,800 service connections in its service area. Operate a company vehicle and support installation and repair of water meters as needed.

Full-time positions require willingness to respond to emergencies, work flexible hours including weekends, and adhere to safety rules. Candidates should have a high school diploma and a valid Michigan driver's license, with the ability to lift and move heavy

Qualifications

• General knowledge of equipment used in water distribution, pumps, meters and valves.
• Ability to operate tools and basic repair tasks for equipment.
• Valid Michigan driver's license and safe operating practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately read meters for ~3,800 service connections.
• Maintain shop inventory, operate machinery and complete work orders.
• Install/repair water meters and perform routine plant-site tasks.
• Respond to emergencies and on-call duties as required.
• Move materials, assist in delivery and perform general maintenance tasks.
