Job summary

Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin, OH seeks a Certified Surgical Tech to support the operating room team. The scrub tech will prepare sterile instruments, maintain the sterile field, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.

This full-time position requires flexibility, weekend availability, and a commitment to patient care. Certification as CST or equivalent and an associates degree in surgical technology are required; BLS is preferred prior to direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Surgical Technology (required)
• One year of perioperative or operating room experience preferred
• Must be certified CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred prior to direct patient care)

Responsibilities

• Functions as the scrub person during operative and invasive procedures by assembling supplies and equipment.
• Prepares sterile supplies and instruments and performs surgical counts with the circulating RN.
• Maintains an organized sterile field and assists with drapes and instrument delivery.
• Retrieves and labels specimens and reports implants to circulating staff.
• Assists with pre/post procedure cleaning and participates in safety and attendance measures.
