On-Call SUD Counselor: Crisis Intervention & Recovery Support

Job summary

HealthRIGHT 360 is seeking an On-Call SUD Counselor I to join our interdisciplinary team supporting clients through assessment, counseling, and case management in a comprehensive health care setting.

You will deliver individual and group counseling, participate in curricula, maintain treatment plans and documentation, assist with crisis intervention, and coordinate referrals to internal and external resources to support recovery and health equity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred in health, human services, social work, psychology, or related field.
• Must be registered as Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor or SUD Counselor with CA certifying agency (CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE).
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience as substance abuse or behavioral disorder counselor or recovery specialist.
• Experience carrying a caseload preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling sessions to clients as needed in alignment with treatment plans.
• Facilitate group counseling sessions and community meetings as scheduled.
• Link clients to internal and external resources based on needs.
• Deliver education classes and structured programming on treatment topics.
• Collaborate with treatment team to review and maintain plans and progress notes.
• Perform crisis intervention and communicate updates to the team.
