Job summary

HealthRIGHT 360, a nonprofit organization, operates North County Serenity House in Escondido and provides integrated health services, including mental health care and substance use treatment. The SUD Counselor I participates in an interdisciplinary team to assess needs, provide counseling in individual and group settings, and assist clients in navigating care systems.

The role involves crisis intervention, case management, documentation, and collaboration to support recovery and health equity

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related field preferred.
• Registration as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor with a CA agency (CCAPP/CAADE/CADTP) required.
• First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group counseling sessions and community meetings.
• Link clients to internal and external resources based on treatment needs.
• Teach classes on treatment-related topics to support goals.
• Develop/maintain treatment and discharge plans with the client.
• Document counseling sessions and keep data in electronic systems.
