Job summary

Union Square Events and CxRA are hiring an on-call Sous Chef for our Belmont, Bronx, NY kitchen. The role involves supporting the Executive Chef, preparing meals, and coordinating line cooks and food-service staff.

We offer an on-call schedule with 40 hours per week and a pay range of $32.00 to $35.00 per hour. Previous culinary experience is preferred, with opportunities to showcase leadership and culinary excellence at a renowned hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Previous culinary experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates and participates in reviews.
• Stores food following safety procedures.
• Maintains proper food handling and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment and workstation.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints.
• Explains daily menu items to staff and guests.
• Monitors peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and informs supervisor when low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
