Job summary

North Bend School District 13 is seeking a Substitute/Food Server to support lunch service and meal preparation at the district kitchen. This on-call role assists the Head Cook with cooking, serving, and cleanup during scheduled shifts.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 18 years of age or older, and (optional) food service experience. Duties include food prep, serving, maintaining cleanliness, and supervising student helpers when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Able to prepare food, including salads, work with portion control, and handle money.
• Able to operate school kitchen equipment, appliances, and utensils.
• Able to supervise student helpers in the kitchen/cafeteria.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for basic preparation of food, in a safe manner.
• Prepare and serve food.
• Assist in the set up of serving areas.
• Assist in serving of food to students and staff, ensuring supplies are maintained and spills cleaned up.
• Responsible for proper storage of food and supplies.
• Daily cleaning and storage of equipment and dishes.
• Follow standards of efficiency and sanitation set by Health Department.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of food and equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students and staff.
• Act as a friendly ambassador for the North Bend School District.
