Job summary

Pullman School District 267 is seeking Substitute Nutrition Services Staff to cover absences across district locations on an as-needed basis. The role starts immediately with on-call shifts and pays $18.44 per hour. First responsibility is assisting in food preparation and handling payments for meals.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent and a Food Handler’s permit. Prefer experience in food prep, safety, cashiering and record keeping within a school setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Handler’s permit required.
• Experience with food preparation preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling is desired.
• Experience cashiering and keeping records is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of a variety of foods.
• Accept payments on accounts for student and adult meals.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, slicers, and dishwasher.
• Implement defined standards of safety and sanitation.
• Perform related duties including organizing, cleaning, and dishwashing.
• Work positively with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the organization.
• Work with colleagues in a collaborative manner and be a positive team builder.
• Meet multiple demands in pressure situations and maintain high levels of quality work.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Deal with the public, other agencies and district employees in a positive and productive manner.
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Work with minimal supervision and be flexible.
