Job summary

Aberdeen School District is seeking substitutes for cafeteria services. On-call assignments vary daily with no guaranteed placement. Responsibilities include food preparation, serving meals, cashier duties, and maintaining sanitation in the kitchen and cafeteria areas.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit, and background clearances. Bilingual Spanish is preferred to assist a diverse student population.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit required.
• FBI and Washington State Patrol background clearance required.
• Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation such as salads and sandwiches and package sack lunches.
• Serve food along lunch lines or la carte lunches.
• Cashier for lunch line and/or snack bar.
• Perform cleaning duties of kitchen/cafeteria equipment.
• May substitute for cook when needed.
• Balance cash with inventory accounts and stock storage areas.
