Job summary

Caring Hospice in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct patient care during after-hours, with a focus on pain and symptom management for hospice patients. The role requires MA RN licensure and strong assessment and documentation skills.

Job description

The RN on-call provides direct patient care with special emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms to hospice patients after hours.

Shift: 7 on/ 7 off

Must be Licensed as an RN in MA.

Ability to relate and treat terminally ill patients/families and their particular problems.

Must possess strong patient assessment, patient management and documentation skills.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skill.

Access to reliable automobile with proof of liability insurance.

Communicates pertinent findings to the physician, implements medical treatment plan, instructs family accordingly.

Identifies problems/needs of patient of caregiver, making recommendations for pain management and comfort/symptom management.

Responds to calls promptly when received from answering service. Is able to prioritize.
